The Hack Range by ETA is the wood chip boiler for agriculture and businesses. The boilers are ideal where heating needs to be economical, environmentally-friendly and automatic. The range is popular in agricultural, industry and commerce businesses, as well as for local heating networks, such as holiday lets.

Commercial Biomass are registered and certified installers of ETA biomass boilers. ETA are the UK’s bestselling commercial biomass boilers, with a thirty percent market share. They set the standard for safe and reliable fuel conveying systems, efficiency and innovation. These boilers can burn either wood pellets, chipped wood, logs, or even a type of elephant grass called miscanthus, while some can burn a combination of these fuels. All ETA boilers operate by burning wood inside highly-efficient, self contained units to provide heating and hot water to homes and businesses of all sizes.

ETA wood burning boilers give outputs from 7kw to 500kw. A 7kw boiler would suit a small house and a 500kw boiler would provide enough heat for a large factory building. All ETA boilers are Renewable Heat Incentive compatible, which means they are eligible for government funding. Non-domestic RHI allows commercial installations to use any size when it’s heating a business or multiple dwellings with more than one council tax allocated. Our best selling ETA boiler is the Hack 200 kW biomass boiler. Commercial Biomass Partnership has fitted more Hack 200s than any other installation company in the whole of Europe, so we know these boilers inside out! The 130 is a smaller version of the 200, with a single ash box and reduced dimensions.

Heat Pumps

We install IDM ground source and air source heat pumps, as well as Kensa ground source and open source heat pumps. These are also eligible for funding by the government’s RHI scheme. A heat pump works on the same principle as a refrigerator, which takes a relatively low heat and amplifies it into a higher heat. In a refrigerator the heat is taken out of your food and discharged to the exterior by the black radiator on the back of the fridge. In a heat pump the heat is recovered from the ground, a water course, or from the air, and the heat pump discharges the amplified heat into your heating system. Typically heat pumps can achieve a CoP in excess of 3:1, meaning for every 1kw of electricity you use to the extract the heat you get 3kw of heat energy.

Air source heat pumps will usually have a CoP higher than that of ground source during the warmer months and lower CoP during colder weather.

Solar Photovoltaic Panels

We install and maintain solar panels, from small 4kw domestic systems to arrays in excess of 200kw. This is another technology that is eligible for government subsidies whether you use all the electricity yourself or export to the national grid. There is a separate FIT (feed in tariff) if you choose to export.

Low Energy Lighting

We can advise on and install a wide range of low energy lighting schemes, both domestic and commercial. With recent advances in the production of LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) there is now a staggering variety of cheap low energy lighting available. Unlike the conventional low energy light bulbs that first replaced the tungsten filament light bulbs we were all used to, the LED bulbs give full output instantaneously and, largely due to the fact LEDs give out light without producing heat, they are very cheap to run. They also last a very long time when compared to conventional tungsten filament bulbs.
